Mark had declared that this an event that was well worth using the first bit of a new roll of film on. Roger, of course, showed him his favorite finger in response to that. Seriously, a number of months of being a recluse and you were labeled for life. No wonder he used to date Maureen. He's just as good at making a production out of everything, he thought, shaking his head as he wrapped his arm around Mimi's waist. "So where exactly do you want to go?" he asked, brushing the fact that, for once, Mark was the one to tease him, out of his mind. He supposed he had in coming. He couldn't remember how much he laughed at Mark after Maureen dumped him. But it wasn't as if he could help it; it was the funniest thing to happen to all of them in ages. So yes, in his misery, he was pretty mean to Mark. Wasn't that what brothers did anyway?
Out of the corner of his eye, he noticed one of the apartment doors that were open. This would have been of little consequence under normal circumstances. That sort of thing happened all the time, even if it was a little stupid of whichever tenant did that. This was still the city and that was a good way of getting all of your stuff stolen. However, he noticed someone moving around in the apartment, someone with long dirty blonde hair. He blinked and turned his head toward it. Wait a minute... He turned just in time to see a very familiar looking girl starting to walk toward the window. No way!
"Mimi, hold on a second, would you?" And without another word, he darted toward the partially open door, not caring to knock. Roger was never the knocking type, even if it meant that he might damn well give his little sister a heart attack. "Carson?!"

Carson noticed her reflection in the window as she looked out it. After traveling, the remains of the bruises and the black eye from James could be seen. She sighed. Was she ever going to be rid of them? She looked down. She had pulled up the sleeves of the grey sweat jacket she wore over a teal shirt up to her elbows and she realized the remains of those bruises could also be seen. She pulled them down slowly for the bruises still hurt. She leaned over for a moment and made sure the gray leggings she wore on her thin legs under a black skirt were covering her knees, which has a little band-aid on one knee (which she wanted to hide) but not from James. Carson was a major klutz. She got that by tripping and falling on a curb back in Scarsdale.
Carson sighed as she stood back up. She ran a hand through her dirty blonde hair. She figured she'd better go and surprise Roger. She hadn't told him she was moving there. It was spur of the moment and just to get away from James. She was just about to turn back from her window when she was startled by a familiar voice. "Carson?!" She jumped as she heard his voice. She hadn't seen Roger since he moved to New York. She was sure their mother probably sent him her school picture, like she did to everyone in the family. She turned around, eyes wider than normal in surprise. She relaxed a bit as she saw it was definitely Roger. His hair was longer than it was the last time she saw him, of course since she hadn't seen him in a while, and he looked a bit thinner but he was still her big brother. "Roger." she sighed in relief, "Hey." she greeted, running a hand through her dirty brown hair again, "You gave be a bit of a scare there." She laughed lightly. She hoped he wouldn't notice the remaining bruises or black eye on her face.

When the girl turned around, his suspicions were confirmed. A grin sprouted on Roger's face, especially when he realized how much he had startled her. It was Carson all right. Upon hearing her greeting, he suddenly realized how Collins felt. We Davis' aren't very good with greetings after a long time of not seeing the person in question, are we? he thought as he laughed. "Sorry sis. Damn, I can't believe you didn't even tell me you were coming." And with that, he walked in and gave her a hug before standing back and getting a better look at her.
"God, you look so grown up. I swear, it feels like yesterday when you were up to my knee...not that you sprouted up that much," he joked, a wicked little smirk coming on his face as he added the latter comment. Her height was something he often teased her about, and luckily, she knew it was all in good humor. He'd never say anything that would genuinely hurt her feelings...at least not on purpose. He wasn't exactly known for tact, after all.
However, it never really occurred to him that there were people out there that didn't care about her nearly as much as he did. That was part of the reason that he was shocked when he noticed the yellowing dark circles around her eyes. Either she was using some pretty freaky makeup or... "Carson? Who do I have to beat up?" Seriously, he wasn't sure why he had a habit of saying that when, the fact was, he was more of the flight kind of guy. Then again, this was his little sister he was talking about. There were a certain number of people he would resort to violence for, after all.

Carson smiled as she watched her brother grin. "Sorry sis. Damn, I can't believe you didn't even tell me you were coming." She shrugged. "Kind of a last minute decision, really." she told him. She hugged Roger back. She really had missed her older brother. "I missed ya, Rog." she told her brother while she hugged him.
"God, you look so grown up." "I do?" Carson asked, "Well...maybe since the last time you've seen me." She hadn't seen Roger since he moved to New York. "I swear, it feels like yesterday when you were up to my knee...not that you sprouted up that much," She purised her lips. "Not funny, Roger." she said, "I'm not that short."
Carson figured Roger must have noticed the remaining bruises and black eye on her face. "Carson? Who do I have to beat up?" "You? Beat up someone?" she teased, pretending it wasn't too serious, "You are so not a tough guy, Rog." She then looked down. "He's the reason I left home....and school. I was homeschooled and graduated early. I left so he wouldn't be able to get me again....but he will....James will find me...." It was easy to see that Carson was shaken up by the whole ordeal.
