The Demeanor
Overall Personality: It can be said that Adrian is, for the most part, an emotionally mature man. He knows how to keep his temper in check and he can usually keep a clear head under stressful situations. In fact, most of the time, he can be seen with traces of a smile on his face, because he tries to concentrate on the good things in his life. There's just no point in dwelling on things you can't control when you can just concentrate on the little things that make life a little more bearable. He's pretty amicable and is unlikely to tell someone "no" unless it goes against his principles. He's just not a confrontational kind of guy, but he has a slight tendency of bottling things up. He just doesn't want to cause any more complications than those that might already exist.
He's very passionate about other things though, like music for instance. When he has nothing else to do, he'll often let his mind wander and they'll usually wander to songs that he's trying to write, and he'll often tap his foot in the rhythm of whatever song is playing in his head. However, when it comes to his talents, he's relatively modest, which could be surprising if people know that he was actually quite famous thanks to it. He'll just smile and then compliment you for something that he knows you're good at. That's how he sees things; everyone has their strengths and they're worth celebrating. Just because he got lucky doesn't mean he shouldn't acknowledge other people's worth; far from it.
What is your character's deepest secret? He honestly grew weary of the fame. It's entirely overrated. He'd much rather
What is your character's strongest desire? At this moment, he's not 100% sure of what he wants the most. There are so many things he hasn't really experienced, what with his life revolving around his career for all these years. He sort of wants to make up for lost time, I suppose.
The Past
Family: Jean Moreau [father, they have a healthy relationship, despite Jean's manic tendencies]
Anastacie Moreau [mother, she's the one who taught him how to play piano, they're very close]
Previous and Current Romantic Relationships: He had a girlfriend named Ruby when he was sixteen, but he was often busy with his music career, so it ended up ending on his seventeenth birthday. He really cared for her, so it took him a while to get over her, and he's wondered if she was a motive for him quitting...but he's never truly been in love.
History: Adrian was born in France, Nice to be precise. His family wasn't the richest, but they lived comfortably enough. One thing that was always clear to both him and his mother was that his father was rarely satisfied. Not that it caused any issues; it simply caused his father to get huge ideas (inventions, novels, business endeavors, etc) that just never made it to the top. That was when he and his mother would try to pick up the pieces of his confidence, all the while shaking their heads at how he never changed and that this would be far from his mind come morning. He was about as changeable as the midsummer weather, and the two had come to accept it, even if his manic behavior got slightly ridiculous at times. Thankfully, he got piano lessons from his mother that provided some level of sanity in the house.
During his time in school, his music teacher discovered that he had quite a talented voice, and from lessons from his mother, his skills with the piano had become quite remarkable. He ended up playing in the teacher's place when she had injured her hand for a concert. That was when his father got another one of his ideas. Until now, he had only slightly acknowledged his son's talent, but now that he saw it right in front of him, he urged his son to record some things. That was when he discovered that his son had also been writing some things. To that he said, "Fantastique! Record anything you've got!" His father was never one to waste anything, let alone talent, so he all but harrassed music companies into listening to a demo and before Adrian knew it, he was in a studio.
While he couldn't say he was a major star, he was famous enough to be recognized on the street by some people, and that was overwhelming enough for the relatively quiet boy. He just didn't know what to say about the fact that he had so many fans, and people were often nice to him upon realizing who he was. He wasn't sure if he really wanted that sort of thing, which went especially when he met his first girlfriend, Ruby. He cared about her, but there were times when he wondered if she was only attracted to the fame and talent. They eventually broke up when both of their lives were clearly going in different directions.
After a good five years of semi-fame in France, Adrian finally had to tell his father that he had had enough. Not wanting to disappoint the man too horribly, Adrian proved that he was able to handle these sorts of discussions maturely. He truly believes that was when his father really saw him for the first time. Surprisingly enough, Jean accepted this turn of events somewhat quickly, and Adrian was allowed to quit as soon as his next concert ended. With a new sense of freedom, he decided that he wanted to get away from France, if only for a little while, as soon as he was finished with college. After all, just because he had gained quite a bit of wealth from his career didn't mean that he shouldn't work. He actually ended up staying in France longer, because he got a teaching job at his old high school, and he found it hard to resist.
Finally, just a month ago, Adrian, like many people who want to get away, decided to go to New York City. Hence why he's here in the East Village, and he's just trying to find the peace and quiet he had been wanting for nearly a decade. Clearly, he doesn't know what he's in for.
Let Us Begin...
RP Sample: For a rich guy, Adrian's apartment was actually pretty simple. The grandest thing in the room was his piano; that was really the only luxury he would allow himself. He didn't like television that much anyway. What could it really show him that he couldn't get from reading or just going outside and interacting with people, that's what he wanted to know. Anyway, all he really needed was a bed, anything that he'd need to make a decent meal...nothing too extravagant. This was probably going to be something he'd thank himself for later on. His mother always said that thriftiness was a good trait to have. As he shut the door of his newly furnished apartment behind him, he suddenly found himself humming, and laughing at himself. This always happened, of course. A musical mind like his couldn't be quiet.
He hadn't realized until now that he was going to be restless once setting up his new home was finished. He didn't exactly know anyone in the city yet, and besides...what else could he do? Or was that even a question worth asking? Laughing at himself once again, he brought himself toward the piano, running his fingers over it before he settled himself down on the bench in front of it. Debussy was practically tingling in his fingertips before he began playing, a grin growing on his face as the beautiful music started echoing in his mind. He had played this piece a thousand times, honestly...and he'd never get tired of it. Things couldn't get much better than this.
